Function:

（1） Used to keep the pressure of hydraulic system constant.

As a relief valve, it is connected with throttling elements and loads in a quantitative pump system. At this time, the valve is normally open and overflows. With the different oil demand of the working mechanism, the overflow of the valve is sometimes large and sometimes small, so as to save and balance the amount of oil entering the hydraulic system and keep the pressure in the hydraulic system constant.

However, due to the loss rate of the overflow part, it is generally only used in low-power systems with constant-displacement pumps. The adjustment pressure of the relief valve should be equal to the working pressure of the system.

（2）Used to prevent overload of hydraulic system.

As a safety valve, the overflow valve is normally closed when it is used to prevent overload of the system. When the pressure in front of the valve does not exceed a preset limit, the valve is closed without oil spill.

When the pressure in front of the valve exceeds this limit, the valve will open and the oil will flow back to the oil tank or low-pressure circuit, thus preventing the hydraulic system from overloading. Safety valves are mostly used in systems with variable pump, and the overload pressure controlled by them is generally 8% ~ 10% higher than the working pressure of the system.

（3）Used for unloading.

The oil circuit can be unloaded by connecting the remote control port of the relief valve with the oil tank with the reversing valve. 

（4） Used for remote pressure regulation .

Connect the oil inlet of the remote pressure regulating valve and the remote control port (unloading port) of the relief valve to realize remote pressure regulation within the set pressure range of the mainstream valve.
